What is an ISP?
ISP is the abbreviated form of Internet Service Provider. It is basically a company that provides high speed broadband internet connection.
What is a Modem?
A Modem is a piece of network equipment that assists in gaining access to the Internet. Internet connection can be either DSL via phone line or Cable service.
What is a Router?
A router is a network device that assists in connecting numerous equipments (like computers) to DSL or cable modem in order to share one Internet connection.
What is a Port?
Port refers to an opening on a device which is used for connecting the cable.
What does VoIP means?
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a great alternative to make and receive calls using high speed broadband connection instead of using standard phone line. VoIP converts the analogue phone calls into data that travels over the high-speed Internet connection and call sounds similar to the regular phone call.
What is meant by Virtual Number?
Virtual Numbers are basically secondary numbers which connects to any of the Vonage lines or SoftPhone. With the help of virtual number, one can easily maintain a local presence anywhere by selecting an area code from other location.
What is a Broadband connection?
Broadband connection refers to the continuous high-speed Internet connection offered by a Cable, DSL, or Fiber connection
What is meant by Call Hunt?
Call Hunt is a Vonage feature that enables the callers to connect to their other Vonage lines when the main line is occupied.
What is Device Portability?
Device Portability refers to the ability to use the Vonage service anywhere you go. One can connect the Vonage phone adapter to a high-speed Internet connection and make and receive calls using their own phone number from anywhere.
What is meant by Phone Adapter?
A Phone Adapter refers to the Vonage device that connects to your Broadband Internet Connection and does the conversion of phone call into data for its transmission over the internet.
What is Call Return feature?
Call Return feature provided by Vonage (*69) allows the customer to automatically dial the number for last incoming call.
