Video Phone Calling in INDIA with MTNL’s VoIP Service
MTNL (BSNL), the government owned body has launched the much awaited VoIP services in India. Now users can enjoy the VoIP services including making video calls in India. With this Launch MTNL has expanded its broadband services by offering Video Phone calling services called as ‘V Spyk’. As of now, there are more than 6,000 subscribers on its IPTV service. This VoIP service in addition to video calling facility is available to broadband subscribers and it will cost Rs 9,999 as lifetime rental for the services. Moreover, it includes Rs 499 per month charges including IPTV, VoIP charges. It also offers 50 free calls and 50 MB broadband services every month.
As of now, the cost of VoIP services seems to be on higher range but it is expected to lower down with increase in number of subscribers in future. This telecom company is also planning to provide interactive education as well as e-shopping over IPTV very soon. The VoIP service is being launched in alliance with Aksh Optifibre Ltd. MTNL will retain 25% of the revenue and rest 75% will be retained by Aksh Opticfibre. Aksh will offer the set-top box and also administer content alliances with TV broadcasters. This service will be available to those MTNL subscribers having broadband connection in Delhi and Mumbai.
The applicable Tariff for Video Phone Service is as follows
1. Video Phone Connection & Registration — One time charge of Rs.500
2. Service Charges — Rs.150 every month and applicable taxes
3. No free calls are offered by the provider
4. Sip to Sip Voice only —- 30 paise per minute
5. Sip to Sip Video call only —- Rs 1.00 per minute
6. Sip to PSTN and Mobile abroad as per the applicable VoIP tariff
7. Life time service charges —- Rs. 9999/- plus applicable Taxes
If any user wants to return the video phone instrument then he will get back his life time service charges within 15 days after deduction of Rs. 999 plus applicable taxes.
